Helen Savage, 1998

This delicate piece of work is made from handmade paper, fabric, photocopies and cord. Each frame represents a generation of women in Helen's life. For each lifetime there are memories and impressions : photos, writings and lace embedded into the paper. The lace in the top frame belonged to Helen's great great grandmother. A poem written by Helen's mother Edith threads through the work. The text in the centre frame became a central theme for the following year's 12 Goes, 15 Years work.
